4+ 2 Early Entry to the Master of Science in Counseling
A unique opportunity for GMercyU Psychology majors
GMercyU Psychology majors can now apply for Early Entry to the Master of Science in Counseling Program.
Eligible psychology students can take up to 12 credits of coursework in the M.S. in Counseling Program as part of their undergraduate open electives.
This option saves time and up to $9,000 in graduate tuition! As an added bonus, you will be eligible for GMercyU's 10% alumni tuition discount on your master's degree once you earn your Bachelor’s in Psychology degree.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the predicted job growth for mental health counselors through 2033 is nearly five times the national average, due to an increase in the number of people (including youths) with mental health and behavioral disorders, as well as those with addictions.

About the Psychology Program
GMercyU’s Psychology program combines compelling classroom lectures and an emphasis on research and professional development – including the ability to develop and execute your own research projects, present your work at professional conferences, and participate in faculty-led research.
All Psychology majors complete at least one internship. This past year, more than half of GMercyU’s Psychology majors completing an internship at a clinical site were offered a paid position from their site upon graduation.
This close-knit program also features exceptional faculty support; professors are devoted to mentoring students toward their career goals and aspirations.
10% Alumni Tuition Grant: GMercyU students who earn a bachelor’s degree are eligible for a 10% tuition grant on a Master’s degree.
About the M.S. in Counseling Program
In GMercyU's CACREP-accredited, hybrid M.S. in Counseling Program, you can choose from two concentrations depending on your career goals:
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Concentration
Work in a variety of settings, including community programs, social service agencies, and private practices.
School Counseling Concentration
Work in schools with children and teenagers, grades K-12. Students may be eligible for the PA Helps Program.
The bulk of the program is completed online, while an on-campus residency enables you to meet and learn from the program’s faculty, connect with your faculty mentor, bond with fellow students, and stay current with new developments in the counseling field.
